Emergency relief aims to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity in the aftermath of natural disasters, violence, and political crises. In recent years, conflicts in Syria and Yemen have displaced millions of individuals, including children. UNHCR, an agency of the United Nations, estimates that there are more than 3.65 million internally displaced people in Yemen and over 650,000 Syrian refugees in Jordan.
As humanitarian crises disproportionately impact women and children, the Shefa Fund supports organizations that provide health care services and vital supplies to vulnerable women and children, following natural disasters or political conflict.

With the Shefa Fund’s $25,000 grant, the Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation (YRRF) dispatched community workers into hard-to-reach areas of Yemen to provide food baskets, blankets and clothing, and school supplies to hundreds of families and children impacted by the ongoing crisis.
The Yemen Relief and Reconstruction Foundation provides support to Yemeni families and raises awareness about the humanitarian crisis underway in Yemen. They support local relief and reconstruction efforts and also facilitate peace campaigns.
